Terms & Booking Policy

These terms apply when you book a service with Lagos Pet Buddies. By confirming a booking, you agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

1. Who we are

Lagos Pet Buddies is run by Lara Moutinho and Rita Cruz, based in Lagos, Portugal. You can contact us at hello@lagospetbuddies.com or on WhatsApp at +351 965 107 687.

2. Our services

We offer dog walking, home visits, overnight pet sitting and pet boarding in Lagos and nearby areas. Our prices are shown on our website. Travel is free within Lagos, Meia Praia, Odiáxere and Praia da Luz. For locations outside these areas, a minimum travel fee of €10 applies per visit.

Pet boarding prices

• Day stays: 10€ per hour, with a 2-hour minimum (20€) and a maximum of 50€ per day.
• 1 to 3 nights: 50€ per night.
• 4 nights or more: from 40€ per night.

3. Bookings

• You can request a booking through our website, WhatsApp or email.
• A booking is only confirmed once we confirm it in writing. A WhatsApp message or an email is fine.
• Before the first booking, we ask you to fill in our pet information form and, where possible, we meet you and your pet first.

4. Payment and cancellations

Payment details and our cancellation terms are confirmed with each booking. If you need to cancel or change your dates, please let us know as early as possible.

5. Your pet

• Please make sure your pet’s vaccinations and parasite treatments are up to date.
• Tell us about any health issues, medication, allergies, fears or behaviour we should know about, including any history of biting, aggression or escaping.
• Dogs should have a well-fitted collar or harness, an ID tag and a registered microchip.
• We may decline or end a service if we feel it isn’t safe for your pet, for other animals or for us.

6. Health and emergencies

Rita is a veterinarian, and that experience is part of how we look after your pet. Still, Lagos Pet Buddies isn’t a veterinary practice, so consultations and treatment aren’t part of our services. If your pet seems unwell or has an accident while in our care, we’ll contact you straight away. Rita will help in the moment if she can, but that depends on the situation and isn’t something we can promise. If we can’t reach you and it’s urgent, you authorise us to take your pet to your usual vet or to the nearest available vet. Veterinary costs are paid by the owner.

7. Keys and access

If you give us keys or access codes, we keep them safe, only use them for your bookings, and return the keys or forget the codes whenever you ask.

8. Photos

We love sending you photos and videos during our visits. We’ll only share pictures of your pet on our social media if you’re happy for us to, and we never show your address.

9. Our responsibility

We look after every pet with care and attention, and we’re responsible for any damage caused by our own fault, under Portuguese law. We aren’t responsible for problems caused by information that wasn’t shared with us or by an existing health condition.

If something isn’t right, please tell us first at hello@lagospetbuddies.com and we’ll do our best to sort it out.

11. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Portuguese law.
